Welcome to my first blog on my narrative game project which my group has called Demonic Vengenance.
In this group project we are tasked with making a narrative based game with cinematics. For this game we are making a script as well that we will follow when making the cutscenes for the game.
The story of our game follows our protagonist Theodore and an demonic invasion of earth. Theodore is a former war veteran that fought during the ultimate war and was the man who killed General Kage; a large figure on the enemy side of the war. Theodore managed to stop Kage during the war from experimenting with a demonic artifact called the chaos key that could grant a strong unknown power.
Back to present day Theodore is happily living his life with his wife Isabel and his son Timmy. However Theodore's world will be rocked as the skys turn red and Kage returns for revenge and to claim the chaos key again.
Our game is only going to be a prototype showcasing the intro scene where Theodore is in his house and the start of the demon invasion. There is gameplay where the player will be able to walk around Theodore's house and interact with objects as well as a combat sequence against demons that have been summoned by the demon general Kage during his invasion of earth.
My role for this project is concept designer, co-script writer and map designer. I made the concept and base of the story during one of the lectures which my team agreed with. My team wrote the start of the script and I made some adjustments to it afterwards with their consent since I was unavailable when they first wrote it. I am currently making the house map for the game where the player will walk around and interact with objects. The fight scene will mainly take place in the garden of the house as it is a large area to fight in.
Below are some in progress images of the house.
